Serve & minister

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations

Spring Break Missions

Every Spring Break you have the opportunity to join us in a missions effort. We usually alternate between domestic and international trips.

In 2018 we went to Glasgow, Scotland to work with International World Changers / the International Mission Board. It was a phenomenal trip where the Lord taught our students and leaders many things, challenged them in their faith, and revealed to them their capacity for sharing the gospel!

In 2019 we went to New Orleans, Louisiana, to work with a variety of church-planters for the North American Mission Board in a number of ways. We shared the gospel in coffee shops, helped renovate and paint a church, and passed out smoke alarms in apartment complexes while we invited them to church! This trip gave students an opportunity to serve alongside New Orlean’s missionaries and church planters, while also helping them to answer the question, “What might serving and participating in the church look like for me after college?”

In 2020, First College Ministry's spring break trip to Boston, MA to work with church planters in the downtown area unfortunately had to be canceled.
First College Ministry would love to connect you with Send Relief. Whether you would like to spend your summer in a metropolitan area serving in the GenSend program, or get connected with relief efforts continent-wide, Send is an incredible avenue for missions/service opportunities.

First College has had a number of students participate in the GenSend program and we highly recommend this as a domestic missions opportunity.
The IMB is the international missions sending agency of the Southern Baptist Convention. They offer tons of opportunities for you to participate in including a popular program called Nehemiah teams. A number of First College students have participated in IMB programs over the years and we are huge fans!
Our home church also offers a number of opportunities for missions and service throughout the year. You can participate in ESL classes, local missions, and international missions efforts. FBC loves college students and loves to see them involved in missions efforts across the globe!

Upcoming Mission Opportunities

Stay Tuned

At this time there are no missions opportunities being undertaken by FCM that students can sign up for, but stay tuned! We are always finding new ways to help our students serve the campus, city, and nations.
